Who do you love?

In honor of Valentine's Day, I thought I'd dedicate a song to my husband. We don't have a signature tune to mark the first time we met or fell in love or even danced. We have something better, in my opinion, and it is special to us because of where we first heard it. It was in Germany in December of 2000. This was our first romantic getaway sans children after getting married, and the theme song of that trip has become quite meaningful to us over the years since.

By Your Side, Sade
You think I'd leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think I'd leave you down when your down on your knees
I wouldn't do that
I'll tell you you're right when you want
And if only you could see into me

Oh when your cold
I'll be there
Hold you tight to me

When you're on the outside
baby and you can't get in
I will show you you're so much
better than you know
When your lost and you're alone
and you can't get back again
I will find you darling and
I'll bring you home

And if you want to cry
I am here to dry your eyes
And in no time
You'll be fine

Let's all tap into our giddy days of yore and answer: Who do you love and what song would you dedicate to them?

I love that song. So sexy. Our song is Carolina on My Mind by James Taylor. Not terribly common for a "song" but it was the first song dh and I ever danced to.

only the 3rd poster and my song is already stolen--we vacation in the outer banks of NC and my dh learned Carolina on my mind on the guitar when he came on a trip with my family there before we were engaged. (at least i know i can loan him out to play sing concerts for you and your dh em)

Ours is Shameless by Garth Brooks. Dh dedicated it to me when we were first dating as freshmen in HS. Over the years we stayed friends. When we got back together in college we were talking about what our "song" would be. We listened to the words again and that song fits us more now than it did when we were kids.

Imagine us warbling: "Just can't fight this feeling anymoooooorrre. I've forgotten what I started fighting foooooowr. It's time I put this ship into the shooooooore, and throw away the oooooooooar forever." Gotta love REO Speedwagon.
