birthday fun

Well, the art party was a smashing success... I always say, the proof of a good party is an exhausted hostess, lol, and that is exactly what I was! Phew! Here are a few pictures!!!

the invitations...

First the children painted this mural together:

Then they drew portraits of each other and we hung them up for all to admire.
This is the portrait Adriana's partner drew of her!
The children handstamped a t-shirt for the birthday girl as a memento:
And a bonus picture of my Drewbers with his grandmother...

That looks awesome. You've just inspired me. I think we should do a tip tuesday about birthday party ideas.

How creative! That must have taken a lot of energy, especially in the third trimester!

What a fun party! I bet you were exhausted. An apartment we lived in once had floor to ceiling windows and I let my daughter and her friends at her birthday party paint all over them. They had a fun time. I wish I would have thought of the t-shirt idea as a keepsake!

P.S. thanks for visiting my blog!

Lei, you are SO talented! I love your ideas. This was DARLING!!! We are doing my daughters first "friends" birthday party this year. Would you mind terribly if I snaked your idea? Thanks for stopping by my blog!

The idea evolved one in Child Mag... so not all original... regardless, of course you can use the idea! I wouldn't mind at all! Ideas are for sharing! I also let the kids decorate their own cupcakes in lieu of a b-day cake (sorry, no pics of that)... I got colored sugars, sprinkles, candy, fancy toothpicks and let them go to town. They loved it! Their party favors were form the $1 aisle at Target... they may still have some available - clay, paintsets... also smocks for each child!

This truly was one of my favorite parties so far!
