Monday, I don't care for you.

You know those "Get to Know You" quizzes that flood your inbox every few months? Well, I am not likely to forward them because they're somewhat annoying. But if I'm in a time wasting mood I'll at least reply back to the sender.

There is one question I'm always interested in other people's answer to on these things, and that is "What is your least favorite day of the week?" A very telling question, I tell you. I dread Mondays, for example. (And sometimes Sundays. I know, I know - it's terrible. I'm a terrible person for saying it. But I feel like until all my children are a little older and have learned the importance of quietude on Sunday, I'm just not going to "enjoy" them much.) I'm thinking that what this says about me is that I have a hard time getting going. And really, that's every morning, not just Mondays. The difference is that on Mondays, it sticks with me all day.

It's not that I don't try. But nothing REALLY gets me going on Monday - not a fresh batch of cookies, my favorite book, favorite reruns. Not even the beats of JT and a good run. I try all day long to find just the right pick-me-up, tackling projects, running errands, planning a nice family home evening lesson. And so go figure, my least favorite day ends up being my most productive day. And consequently the most exhausting. Hmmm. So what this also says about me is that once I get going, it's difficult for me to stop. So true.

My bet is that most people actually like Mondays. It's the start of a new week. Your energy is (ideally) renewed. It seems more normal to dislike a day like Wednesday, which is smack dab in the middle of the week, the climax of one's busyness, the point at which you're simple enduring - far away yet so close to Friday.

But maybe I am wrong and I'm normal after all?

My least favorite day is Sunday. I know, I'm a heathen. My favorite day is probably Thursday or Friday. I'm all about the anticipation. (of what? no idea...13 yrs of marriage...not like Saturdays are ever this amazingly fantastic day or anything, lol) I don't mind Mondays, but I think they're my most STRESSED day. I have this whole new list for the week and for some reason, feel the need to tackle everything at once. Ugh.

ps. here's a link to the mini trampoline I got Kelly:

I like Mondays. Sundays are harder for me. My hardest day lately is Tuesdays.

My kids are pretty much grown up, so I love Sundays. It's hard for me to get going on Monday mornings, but I enjoy Monday night because I know we don't have ANY MEETINGS OR ANYTHING TO INTERFERE WITH home that night!!! And, the phone doesn't ring ; )

Oh no no no! Monday IS my most hated day....... And, Honey - - Sundays... I'm just getting back into taking all three kids to church by myself, so I totally feel you. In fact, I blogged about it - - and the title of the post was TORTURE! Woot. Woot.

So glad to see you back on here!

Monday just seems to have Murphy's Law written all over it, but Wednesdays are so cram-packed with activities, I'm glad when they're over.

In my life right now I dread Saturdays. But that's not because of any normal reason. Monday is a close second, however.

And Monday or not, I'm just happy to see you blogging again! :)

I hear you on the Sunday feeling. I love the day but it makes me very tired. I love Mondays... it is usually Tuesdays that let me down. That is when I realize that I can't maintain the Monday enthusiasm and I still have 3 more days till I can play on Saturday.

I would agree that Monday is not a favorite day of mine either. It means the relaxing weekend is over and regular life has to start up.

When my girls were little, I used Monday as a day of low expectations. We were all tired out from Sunday's activities at church and just needed to take the day slower. It helped a lot.

I think you and I are both normal in our dislike for Mondays :) !!

I agree...Monday's are my least favorite day. I like to get the week started off slow and easy if I can.

Mondays and Sundays are absolutely my hardest days. Mondays are hard because of many of the points you made, the errands and the clean up from the whole family being home all weekend.

Sunday mornings, no matter how much I try to prepare beforehand, overwhelm me! The fact that everyone has to look presentable, including myself and my DH really takes the wind out of my sails before we even get to church.

A few of my kids are still too young to understand the importance of quietude either. You are too great. Thanks for the perfect way to start any week.

I confess that Sunday is my least favorite. They fail to rest me. Followed closely by Mondays. Maybe because my to do list for the week is still so huge, and I have to manage to recover the house from the week end before I can even get started on it.

Oh, I am with you on the Mondays. Also on the Sundays. Sigh. I like Thursdays because it's almost the weekend, even if these days the weekend isn't what it used to be- it's a tip of the hat to the days when I used to have an exciting weekend life.

I have a love-hate relationship with Mondays. I'm reticent for the week to begin after an enjoyable weekend, but I'm also ready to get back to a routine and schedule. I can totally relate though---Monday is definitely my busiest day!
