Chug, chug, chug

My life is mostly about endurance right now. We've got some big changes ahead of us.

First of all, we are building a new house. The process of preparing your house to sell and moving is not much fun! It is forcing me to really get organized, something I really detest. I am a particular person, yes. I like to have order. But I am not anal. So when our realtor walked through our house and pointed out all the little details that needed attention, I got a little irked. I mean, I've lived with imperfect floorbaords for 7 years. Why do they need to be perfect now? :) But I understand what will ensure the best offer for our house, and that's important to me. So I will do it. But I won't be smiling! Lol!

Second of all, I've taken my health and fitness level more seriously over the last 2-3 weeks. I've stepped up my game by hiring a personal trainer. I work out with her for an hour twice a week, and on my own the other 3 days. I am running, I am lifting weights, and I am seeing just how amazing the human body can be! But I'm not enjoying the process much. It is hard, hard work to get fit. I am just beginning to really accept that. It does help that I feel FANTASTIC.

I am bringing my family on board with me slowly but surely. I have a son with ADHD and it is very important to me that I help him from every possible angle. Since his diet could be a huge contributing factor to this disorder, I am giving it a little extra attention. But we're all going to support him in this effort by working together, and that means eating the same nutritious foods. Again, a difficult change, but one that will have a positive outcome.

In these and other big things I've faced in my life, I've often told myself initially, "I can't do it, it's too much." I am one of those people that tries to be very realistic about what I can do. I don't want to take on too much and have other things fail. Self talk is so important, though. Mindset is so important. It truly affects the outcome. So I will not give power to these difficult things. I CAN do it. I CAN endure. And it will be worth it in the end.

My life is kind of a stopwatch right now. I sprint through what I can, in order of importance. So my blogging may not be real consistent over the next few months. If anyone understands the ups and downs, it's you women! I know you "get it".

I'll be around as much as possible. Especially for Woman to Woman. Stick around, would ya
?

I'll definitely stick around ; ) I love reading your blog.

Your comment about living with the imperfect floorboards is exactly how I have felt each time we move. Why do we get everything perfect for the people who are going to buy the house??? Doesn't seem right.

Good for you with the health and fitness. It's great that you feel fantastic--makes it all worthwhile. Also diet with children is so important.

I think we can talk ourselves into and out of so much.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Have fun with the house...I hated selling our house. We did TONS of repairs, from the day we moved in we did nothing but fix up that house. The thing is, no matter what you do people who are looking will nit pick everything and expect a huge discount for tiny things, even though your asking price reflects what your house is worth as-is. Stick to your guns, and do your homework. We ended up getting only $200 less than the house appraised for. I had a pretty good idea of what it was worth from checking around, and I wasn't going to settle for less!

Reading this makes me wish you lived down the street--maybe we could hang out at the gym together as I'm feeling much the same way lately (though not selling the house thank goodness! Don't need that right now).

You can't get rid of me quite that easily :) !!

I totally understand the changes you are going through ... except the house one. One of these days when DH is done with school we will travel down that road.

Good luck with all you need to do!

Oh I feel your pain.

Having just moved, I know what you're going through. Moving is so much work. I wish you the best there.

I'm working on my body right now too. It's frustrating and it's hard work, but it's worth it.

I've often wondered if my son has ADHD. I didn't know diet could affect that. I'd love to hear what you are doing.

Good Luck!

I just started with a personal trainer a few weeks ago- I have never been so sore in my whole life. I am looking forward to my buff new body though. Working out can't hurt this bad forever right?

I'm proud of you for making your health a priority. I know it's so hard but it truly does help you feel better. I hope your selling and moving goes quickly and smoothly. I'll be thinking about you.

Good luck with selling the house. This sounds very exciting. We've built more than one home over the years and I truly loved the experience. It's a huge undertaking, but so much fun.

I'm not going anywhere. :)

Sounds like you have a few full plates. I was tired just reading through your list. I admire you though, like you said, it's a lot of work and not many people would do it all at once. Good luck with everything! You CAN do it!

Good luck with the house. We remodeled last year - that's enough for me. I am still around checking on you often. Summer was very busy, but now that school has started up I hope to get back into the loop.

Moving is huge! We've moved a lot and the subject is never closed in our house.

Getting healthy is also huge! Good luck! It does take a lot of work, but so totally worth it!

A positive attitude will definitely help you cope with all your life changes. I'm trying to teach my girls the importance of having a positive attitude and they're not allowed to say "I can't" without first trying.

Good luck and I love your new redesign!
